Looking at the early formation of Lace and how simple, repetitive geometric shapes were used. I looked at how lace is made up of positive and negative spaces which are equally as important as each to create beautiful and intricate detailing. We associate lace to be being a light and delicate material yet looking closely it is made up of a complex structure. We associate timber to being a heavy and dense material yet it can be manipulated into something beautifully delicate like Lace.
